We were flying domestically in the US several times during this quarantine and never were asked to present a COVID test or a vaccination card. To fly to Iceland, one has to be either vaccinated, present a negative PCR test or a proof of recovery from COVID. No rapid tests are accepted.
However, Icelandair accepts rapid tests also. Confusing, right? But actually it has some sense.
It takes time to get the PCR results but it's possible to get into the plane with the result of the rapid test and hope to receive the PCR results upon landing. Yes, take two tests 🙄 and hope for the best.. or have a valid proof of vaccination.
The question is - is our American small piece of paper accepted anywhere else in the world?
Just in case, I bought yellow vaccination cards, which are still accepted in European Union (now they have digital cards). Yes, you can buy their cards on Amazon! Actually, they are not "their". These cards apparently are used by Americans, maybe to travel to some continues that have vaccination requirements other than protection from COVID. It's just I've never heard of them, as most of the Americans, I think.
Our physician wrote the info from our vaccination cards to my yellow cards. To be valid, they have to have a doctor's signature and stamp. Have everything! :) We will see how it goes.
